The episode itself "Sword of the Atom", sees the first appearance of Ray Palmer as the Atom in B&tB, but let's just say that Ryan Choi (RIP :( ) gets a much better end to his career as the Atom than his comic counterpart, but to say more would spoil too much.

At least Ted got to go out stopping a missile. It's a little more heroic than getting murdered by a former friend for no real good reason.

And I firmly believe that BATB!Ted survived the explosion and is stuck on Kooeykooeykooey, waiting for someone to rescue him and trying to make radios out of coconuts.

BatB!Ted went out *great*, with a classic heroic sacrifice. He knew it was a suicide mission, and he chose to go on it anyway, to save millions of innocents. That's how you become a hero.

That's how you get awarded the Medal of Honor, in the military.

Yes, BatB!Ted died, but he died about the best death I can imagine a hero dying. (Much like how Booster's seeming death in 52 was lauded as very well done, as he too voluntarily chose to go on a suicide mission to save Metropolis.)
