The specter of Norman Osborn still looms large. While Steve Rogers is trying to rebuild SHIELD(have they actually called it SHIELD since Rogers took over? I'm not sure I've actually seen them use the name) post-Siege and rogue HAMMER members try to re-establish that organization as an independent entity operating with Osborn's ideals, if not his direct guidance, now we have to worry about more fallout from the Siege of Asgard.

Holy Exposition, Dark Claw!
Anyway, after the two US Military Schmoes are knocked out by a team of four uniformed mystery villains(they were shot with darts - maybe they were just knocked out, maybe they were killed - it's probably not important). Then we find out just who they are.

Wait, is that STRIKE? I didn't catch that. He said STRIKE, right?

Oh, ok, yeah, STRIKE it is, then.
I'm joking because the exposition is pretty heavy, but the issue's somewhat enjoyable or else I wouldn't have posted from it, except to mock it much more than I have. It's kinda nice to have a Fear Itself tie-in that deals with stuff other than The Chosen because, as we've seen in the main title, there's a LOT of craziness happening with fear ramping up all over and villains trying to take advantage of the chaos.
STRIKE wasn't created for this book but rather unearthed. Apparently during one of the many times when SHIELD was a US organization(as it seems to be now) as opposed to an international one(as it seems to be every third year) Special Tactical Reserve for International Key Emergencies was set up as the British version. According to Wikipedia, its first leader was actually working for the Red Skull. Then later on, as referenced to by Wolverine, it was taken over by Vixen, one of Captain Britain's enemies.
Wolverine gives Melita his Avengers ID card and she goes to Avengers Tower(oops. Hope she gets out before Ben Grimm gets there) and accesses all kinds of restricted information(despite the Avengers computer AI recognizing that it's freelance reporter Melita and not actually Wolverine). Wolverine gets caught by the STRIKE team right as Melita finds out what was worth the risk of all the booby traps and breaking into and out of a military base to steal this particular heli-carrier.
Hint: It's a real-world weapon and it's something to be concerned about.
All in all it's crazy, often ridiculous, fun. So far. And it's got a pretty Acuna cover.
