It has been noted by wiser minds than mine, that Mr Perez really doesn't discriminate when it comes to objectifying his characters as examples of physical beauty. Like most male artists, his women are beautiful and sexy, but unlike most male artists he has no problem in depicting his men as ALSO beautiful and sexy.... prime beefcake all!

Now, none of these are my commissions alas, but I envy this Troy person, whoever he or she is... Donna perhaps, wanting a little souvenir of her New Teen Titan day?

Am I the only one who looked at the first panel and wondered how the heck Dick's mom was staying inside her costume? Who in the world decided to dress a trapeze artist in a low-cut V neckline with kids in the audience unless they wanted another kind of "show"?

I did wonder whether it might be the sort of fleshtoned gauzy stuff that dancers use to appear less dressed than they really are, but the second scan suggests that it's either very, very GOOD gaze, or just aint there.

I've noticed a slightly worrying trend recently amongst posters to blame me for their own burgeoning... let's be kind and say; "kinks".

I know most female circus performer/dancesport/ice-skating costumes with apparently low-cut necklines actually have flesh-colored cloth were the skin would be exposed, or include a flesh-colored leotard/body stocking underneath the costume.

Hasn't Thomas also gone slightly crazy too? I confess I haven't been following the Flashpoint Batman so could be completely wrong.

Thomas is Punisher mixed with Batman. Martha is straight-up "evil" crazy. THE SAME EVENT makes the woman go insane and evil, and makes the man determined and strong-willed.

I'm more with you. Based on what I've seen of Flashpoint Batman, he's not just a dick, he's a straight-up murderer. Martha Wayne is cuh-ray-zeeeee, but Thomas Wayne is just as crazy...just in a more superhero-friendly way.

I mean, starting your own casino to lure criminals, private police force to catch criminals...fine. A little loopy, but fine. Then dressing like a bat and killing the criminals from the first two steps? Way out there.

Mind you, I don't get the Martha/Joker thing, either. But I don't see it as sexist, just dumb.

I don't have personal experience in such matters, but isn't that sort of what naturally happens when you go from hanging upside down by one foot, to lying on your back?

There just seems to be much less breasticle material in the last panel than the first few. Not Liefeldian level fluctuation, it's just jarring.

I do have the advantage that I can look at them fairly dispassionately, without being quite as... distracted as a straight guy would be.

What's happening here, exactly. Visually it's really kind of hard to follow. Are Amazons attacking the circus tent and that's what causes Dick's mom's line to go slack? Why does it look like she's flying upward in the one shot...and how does Dick and his dad beat her to the ground?

It looks to me that the Graysons are performing innocently enough, when the Amazons (on their mission to find the Helm of Nabu which they know is in the circus somewhere) swooped down in a surprise attack, and tore the roof of the big top, destroying the supports that Mary was hanging from.

Why Dick and John seemed more able to break their fall when they were also falling is a little vague at best.

Just a guess, though it's difficult to get it through in all my rage at killing off the mother (still, I'd love to see how Dick and his dad'll fare together)----

The mother was hanging by her foot when they fell, and the guys were standing. They jumped off, I think, while the mother fell headfirst, so she couldn't get enough control to land properly.
