Greetings True Believers!

Here are a couple scans from the latest issue of this Avengers mini.

I'm conflicted about it.

But DOOM! is always enjoyable.

Enjoy!

I do love this cover.

I add a thought bubble in my version, "Yes, DOOM hits this on a regular basis."

Anyway. The Avengers and the X-Men have "Shut up! No, you shut up!" super-fight and Wanda puts the whammy on them all and transports herself and the Young Avengers to a place of safety...

But it isn't! Turns out in a TWIST! that Wanda's Psycho-outing was partially caused by Victor. Wanda came to him after her children "died" and he helped her control the "Life Force" and it didn't work out. One House of M later Doom's scouts found Wanda and brought her to him.

Wanda wants to restore the mutant race and then be rid of this extra power. Victor promises to help her do so.

Wiccan, Wanda and Doom begin their mojo but Patriot interferes and disrupts the ceremony. Big boom and Wanda gasps that all that extra power is gone. Where did it go??

Oh, we're doing Secret Wars now? Ok, just so we're clear.

Eli's caution is admirable, which is what makes his impulsiveness here particularly badly thought out.

We're talking about a ceremony involving two people with the power to fundamentally alter the nature of reality with thought alone (and in Wanda's case to rewrite space and time on a whim), and Dr Doom, invoking the combined energy of every depowered mutant on Earth in a confined space... it really doesn't matter if you smash the control room of the reactor with a hammer, or do it by lobbing a hand grenade at it from a hundred yards away, when it blows up, you're STILL toast.

Eh, he's seventeen? I think he's just reached the end of his tether. I don't think it was smart, but I think he was very much afraid of what Doom would do, and took drastic measures.

He clearly hoped to disrupt it before it had really gotten started. Didn't work out. No one was toast, anyway.

err, Wanda was toast. It's only because of Billy's magic that she didn't die.

I was talking about the toasting effect of reality-altering magic controlled by three powerful magic users, which [personal profile] icon_uk raised as a concern. Wanda was hit by the arrow, not toasted by magic disruption.

Oh, sorry. I track too many conversations about the same subject, makes for the confusion.
