Yeah, I have to admit the idea of one of Marvel's most well-known Spider-characters/redheads gaining powers and calling herself the SCARLET Spider makes a certain amount of crack-ish sense that could be fun, especially if it's this creative team doing it. XD

I liked that character concept better when she was called "Jackpot." (And before Marvel began trolling the MJ fans in earnest.)

I think it was a good idea that just didn't really fit too well. Not her character, she would be a great superheroine, but just the identity itself.

I've always had a soft spot for that version of the Scarlet Spider suit, so I kind of like it.

I liked Ben's Scarlet Spider costume too, actually. Dunno about this one yet, but one of the reasons the original worked was the contrast of the colors which this one seems to kinda lack. But since it's not the best picture to show off the costume I'm willing to wait and see.

While everyone is moving last nights meatloaf over in hope of Carlie's fridging, it does seem unlikely. Quesada has not finished indoctinating convincing everyone that Carlie is Pete's perfect woman.

I like the idea that someone else had about Carlie staying a giant spider, but regaining her intelligence and keeping her sentience and becoming Peter's sidekick.

I would read the hell out of CSI Spider!

This is infinitely better than anything that's been done with the character so far.

I'm torn as to whether she should still be able to talk or whether she should be mute. I think it'd be fun to have an expressive mute spider instead; she would *have* to display her own character, rather than have everyone else talk about how perfect she is.

But yeah, I like this idea!

If it doesn't happen in canon (it won't), I'm writing an alternate-universe fanfic, and no one can stop me!

The unfortunate thing is that, if the Spidey brain-trust does get an unexpected jolt of awesome and actually does this, they'll make Pete all angsty because THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE IS A SPIDEEEEER! Carlie won't mind because she is a SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE.
This is why we can't have nice things.

Peter's actually done that since OMD started. In one story arc he got his fingertips on Norman's face and ripped off some of his skin. I think he did something similar to Kraven's wife as well.
