Certainly... different, though there does appear to be a lot of plot between scans 2 and 3 (Who is she speaking to when she says "Kill him" for example)

I like how Brin's drawn throughout this; once the "Yes, I have a dick" bomb's dropped on Jok the doglover there, it both doesn't seem ridiculous and still makes the feelings of a guy like that make some sense.

Hee, it IS a Horta! :) I was guessing on that one, honestly! And if I'd been thinking purely of the Who-niverse, I'd have put the Ogri, Kastrians like Eldrad and possibly the Weeping Angels first.

It is very good indeed, sweet and rather lovely. If Torchwood had ever been half as charming as that fic, I'd have tolerated it.

Up to a point, Jack never expressed an interest in anything which could not give informed consent back. His colleague Captain John, on the other hand, did express interest in a passing poodle, though whether he would have actively pursued the attraction towards something with the brains of, well a poodle, is less clear.

Interesting characterization

What really strikes me is that Officer Jok responds more to Brin's "I love you too," than to her "Kill him now." As a matter of fact, he doesn't respond to the threat of death at all (at least in these scans) so I wonder just how sane he was to begin with.

P.S: Since animals have consensual sex with each other, doesn't that mean that they simply have different methods of giving consent? Presumably a dog or cat has some scent, or high pitched verbal cue which indicates they are willing to copulate. I'd still never screw a dog, Captain Spike be damned (I say that's Spike from the future - he is unaging after all).

As they have no concept of abstract reasoning, consent wouldn't mean the same thing to animals that it does humans, who are, as far as is known, the only species capable of consciously controlling their reproductive activities.

Animals like dogs and cats operate on a cycle where the female goes into heat during ovulation and the pheromone that is released attracts males to breed. It's not a conscious choice on either side.

"Willing" does not seem an appropriate term to use, "ready" is perhaps closer to it.
