the people of Broxton, OK are adjusting again. Midgard mingling with people from the nine worlds. And Tanarus the God of Thunder is making the rounds.
The Asgardian trinity of queen mothers address the new Asgardia and Loki begins to put things in motion to solve the mystery of Tanarus.


After a brief history of Tanarus and his "history", he is confronted by KidLoki. KidLoki


Speaking of Bill, someone has taken up a position once held by the noble Bill of Bills. I think we have a worthy successor.


and while the queens plan a brighter future, the enemies of Asgard ally themselves, now that Odin has abdicated and things are in flux.

who is Tanarus?

Ulik, powered up by the Troll King and Karnilla. Thought it might be someone else wearing Thor's skin, or something like that.

I thought there would be something more involved with this.

And where is Thor Odinson? On a boat in the ether, bound to a one-way trip.

How can there be a Demogorge if Atum is dead? Unless that doesn't stop the Demogorge from manifesting.

And will Fraction adress the fact that Gaea is not Vanir at all. She's a powerful Elder God and the personification of Midgard, which was the whole point of Odin getting it on with her and having Thor (he wanted a powerful heir that wasn't completely Asgardian).

I wonder if Fraction is going to address the whole Gaea Atum/Demogorge and Thor connection, since Atum is also Gaea's son after all (he probbaly won't though but we'll see).

Yay Karnilla is back! I missed her.

And Sif continues to be a non-presence.

I figured that Atum's identity/spiritual essence is sort of fluid like that of Gaea, Chthon, etc., and that his body going kablooey was probably a temporary inconvenience, so his return doesn't really strike me as wrong in and of itself.

However, his role was to eat living degenerated gods and redistribute their divine energy, not act as a really sucky afterlife for gods that die in other ways. We've seen the post-death fate of various Norse gods before, and getting chowed down on by Atum wasn't it.

I dunno, the All-Mothers are kick ass! They want to take monarchy out of Asgard and turn it into a Republic and welcome everyone from All 9 Realms into the city. Also last arc Volstagg and the Priest who became Galactus' new herald were awesome too.

All other stuff has been pretty meh though.

I've been wondering. Why is gaia always shown with that baby in her arms? I assume it's her kid, but what's the story there?

I hate what they did with Kelda. Losing Bill was terrible, but does she really need to go on a Bella Swan journey of self destruction over it? }:(

I must say though: I love little Loki and I know he's not responsible for the actions of his past self, but seeing Kelda swat him down was still a little satisfying.

I have a fear that the baby Gaea is holding is some new god to replace the fallen Autumn, and it's alternate self IS the Demogorge.

I think Fraction is alluding to the fact that she is the Mother Goddess of all godly Earth pantheons. According to Marvel she is Gaea/Izanami/Aditi,/Akka/Ala,/Ammaveru,/Citlacicue,/Coatilique/Danu/Eithinoha/Erce/Hou-TouNana/Nertha/Ninhursag/Nokomis/Pachamama/Prakriti/Rangi/Vaat/Yo so yeah she's THE Earth Goddess of all god pantheons and pretty much the progenitor to a lot of the gods and Godesses (she has been acknowledged as being related to Herc in Chaos war).

The baby is most likely one of her children and Thor's little half-brother.

I like Fraction. I want to like this, but I can't say I do. First of all--you have a charm to change your appearance and THAT'S the one you go with?

I dunno, it's just...Fraction doesn't seem to have the feel for this that he definitely has for Stark. Maybe it just suffered from having Gillen doing JOURNEY at the same time, and frankly kicking all kinds of ass. Gillen absolutely has a feel for it. But Fraction...it just doesn't work for me. I can't really put my finger on why.
