My Comic Assignment from My Graphic Novel Class

Hey Guys...sooo talking to aeka yesterday and I kinda outed myself when i said my comedy drawing is crap, that I do draw from time to time(god i wish i had more time...)I also write, (And not just humorous little scenes for Robin Inc or "What Happens to Batman whenever some one mentions his Dead Parents" :) I've been working on a story for a while. SO as most of you know i am taking a Graphic Novel Literature class, our previous assignment was a comic book adaptation. We could adapt a scene from a book, a short story, poem, song ect... into an at minimum 8 page "comic". Then Write a pitch for it and a "reaction" to it.

I decided to adapt this story I have been working on (i'm about six chapters in)since really a part of me has always wanted to do this. this is my first attempt at drawing sequential art though. (i mostly do poses and moments) sooo okay yeah no more putting it off.

So i have decided to post the comic i worked on here. (i will also probably post it on my Tumblr http://fanboywatchtower.tumblr.com/ and on my http://shadowpsykie.deviantart.com/ as well. )

I just finished reading your comic book, Shadowpsykie, and to tell you the truth is a well done job even if you are just starting. The art was pretty much ok and it did reflect the waves of emotions we saw on the story. The argument of the story reminded me of the saner and better days of Frank Miller or Neil Gaiman and it had some pretty cool moments (My favorite part were the 2 versions of "War is coming", one in a violent scene and the other been with the 2 guys sleeping together at peace). Keep fighting the good fight!

thanks :D i appreciate it. You know in the back of my head I knew what i was doing with those images (War is Coming) but it didn't click in the front of my mind till now lol. weird. it was a concious subconsious thing.

i might actually continue this (probably over the summer).

Dark Knight was actually one of the books we read in this class (in fact it was two books before this. we had just finished Whedon's Astonishing X-Men, and DK was before that) so i guess a little of Frank Rubbed off on me (just a little, a little goes a long way).

I am glad of been of service, Shadowpsykie, and I hope you get a good grade with your comic book. I really wish I had a Graphic Novel class back when I was getting the Bachelor's Degree. Anyhow, you have the talent so use it wisely, amigo.

Now regarding some Miller-ific prose appearing in your narrative, I am just gonna say that it's valid as long as it remains moderated. You can do wonders with that, that's for sure.

That said, I wanted to focus on his nervous smile.... snag I blanked on panel ideas.... Lol

You must REALLY ship Steve and Tony if you can base the appearance of your gay couple off of them and not even know it.

Actually I can give or take them. Though in civil war they totally came off as a divorcing couple.

however Lucas is Latino, and based sorta on me. Personality and facial hair wise at least. I made the other guy blond to contrast his latino ness.and give him this... Innocent ness

Very intriguing story. It was hard to read some parts due to shrinkage as you already pointed out, but from what I gathered, I take it the protagonist is clairvoyant? If so, that's pretty neat. :)

Over all I like they layouts and the dialogue bubbles flow really nicely. :)

well, HE is an empath. his friends are Psionics. But all psionics(in my story) have base line powers to varying degrees. they are have clairvoyance, all have telekinesis, all have telepathy. (but there are those that "specialize". I could send you my proposal that give a little bit of information on the main characters.
