The best thing about Metaphisto is he is never boring or predictable and even better he seems to understand he is living in a comic without being cute about it.

I cannot wait for Dani to give Mephisto "the talk" before she let's him take Amara out.;

- Put your hands or tail on my teammate and you'll lose them.
- You make her cry, I make you cry... and if you want references on just how good I am at that, ask Hela.
- Don't think "curfew", think "deadline" emphasis on the first part.
- Be aware that nearly everyone on our team has been dead at some point or another. We know people in the afterlife and many of them owe us favours.
- Bring her home late, there's no next date for you... unless you believe in reincarnation.
- We smell sulphur on her clothes when she gets back, you'll be BEGGING to be exorcised before we're finished with you.
- Dates must be in crowded public places. You want romance? Read a book.
- If you take advantage of her saying "I wish" or "I'd trade my soul for.." when it is clearly being used only as casual conversation, the only thing you'll be wishing for is oblivion, and I will personally see you don't get it.

I think that after the whole OMD fiasco, Mephisto just threw his arms up and said 'fuck it', and decided to spend the rest of eternity trolling the Marvel universe as opposed to doing actual evil.

I mean really, after OMD, there's really nothing he can do to top it, so he may as well go to Defcon "Not even giving a fuck." and stay there.

Still, it is fun to see Main World Berto go 'EVIL! INCARNATE!' while AOA Nate is more, 'eh, he's a red dude'.
Is that a Nate nipple? Even for the way he's sitting it looks in the wrong place.
Doug looks actively unwell at this point. His face looks thinner than Nate's arm.
Hey, the Devil has a twisty-tail goatee. Gotta give him points like that.
Is it weirder for Nate to have *no* nipples or just one nipple?
....I really need to wiki whether Nate has nipples or not.

Scary eyes are a given in this title by now, as is worryingly skinny looking Doug.

Nate has two nipples. You can see 'em both in the "ding dong" panel.

Of course, sometimes one is covered by his tattoo. It depends on the artist.

You gotta admire his resistence to wearing a shirt. No matter when, no matter where, that dude is not gonna be wearing a shirt. Very guru/hill person.

That nipple looks stuck on to me... OK, I am willing to accept that there is not an ongoing arc where Nate will reveal that he has been gluing up nips because he is, for example, the current personification of the Phoenix force and it doesn't have nipples, being a bird...made of fire,

The nipple still looks in a weird place, though I think that is the way he is sitting maybe? And the fact the tattoo makes him look unbalanced.

Oh, and the shirt thing is totally obvious. That us Cyclop's genetics at work. Shirts are Nate's ruby quartz visor and he does like his powers restrained.

I admit, I half-expected a velvet frock-coat and fuzzy top hat. But that probably would have been too obvious, even for Marvel.

Amara comes from an upbringing where "child bride spends half her time in the underworld" is sort of a mixed cautionary tale/guide to marrying well, doesn't she?

True, though in Greco-Roman myth, the Underworld was not Hell. Tartarus was merely part of the Underworld, as were the Elysian Fields.

And contrary to Disney, Hades was not evil, he was simply... inevitable, and he also had control of the local equivalents of Hell AND Heaven.

To me the random kidnapping and taunting Orpheus with a deal I guess you'd call it, that he couldn't accomplish pushes him to evil.

Can't argue with the kidnapping, no matter how lonely he was.

On the other hand Orpheus broke into the underworld looking for his wife Eurydice, who had died through natural (if unfortunate, depending on which version you follow) causes.

By rights, Hades didn't need to make Orpheus any sort of a deal, but because of Orpheus' music, and the compassion of Persephone, he chose to give him a chance to leave with Eurydice, and set what could be seen as a very simple rule; "Don't look back". That's not an impossible task by any definition. One could argue that Hades was making the simplest, easiest rule possible to let Orpheus go and still save face for himself. And still Orpheus blew it.

According to old Scottish legend, the Devil can take a human form, but it's never perfect, there's always a flaw somewhere. Even if he's appears as an otherwise perfect gentleman, the cut of his coat will be wrong, his hat will be unduly warn, or his ears will still be pointed, or his teeth remain pointed.... This is a more sociological version of the same thing perhaps? :)
