So, do the Guardians just not get that every time they try to make the world a better place, they just end up making things far, far worse? I mean, seriously guys, see the pattern already.

I love how a conversation about the many, many times they have screwed up leads to them declaring that their judgment is perfect above all others. Why are we doing this? What is the point of making the Guardians some generic bad guys? How is this interesting?

And they act like that whole thing never happened.

It would be nice if we found out that Kyle had built in a failsafe to the resurrection, so that he can actually see them go completely insane and decide; "Right, that's it. I've given them chance after chance, and they NEVER learn. This time I'm pulling the plug on their power trip", then reverts them all to basic green energy again with a snap of his fingers.

.... by THAT logical you shouldn't MAKE any decisions of your own, ya blue bald-head b--, you're the ones who sold the Blue Lantern Corp out even though they're basically allies who needed will power while at the same time empowering it (yeah, they REALLY help spread chaos with that!), and because that: you help gave way to Blackest Night! In fact, Krona, one of your own, has been the reason why multiple earths have been wiped out! You maybe the oldest being in the universe, but you know what: you also have done the most harm in the universe!!

Let's look at it from their perspective. For thousands of years, they've had their part of the universe under control (more or less). All of their sacrifices and deals had paid off. Then with in the past 40 years, being that they consider their inferiors challenge them, and multiple threats pop out of the woodwork, decimating their ranks and up-ending the way the universe works (according to them).

Suffice to say, they are going to be testy and rash, and will fight that much harder to remain in control, when it is obvious to anyone else that their time of leadership has passed, and that new people should replace them. The Guardian's stewardship of the universe is obsolete.

...but if willpower is the true source of chaos, then shouldn't all the corps other than the GLs be forces for order? The Guardians ought to throw all their resources into backing the Red Lanterns and Star Sapphires, by that logic; they're the least free-willed of the corps.

They can't trust the Manhunters to do the job, and they need an army to wipe out the Green Lanterns.

Ganthet was mind-wiped by the other Guardians into joining them.

Geoff has been writing them as villains for over 2 years now so I know this was a LONG time coming.

That said, I really really want Ganthet to have his mind restored to him - that cold dwarf they replaced him with isn't Ganthet it's an insult to his name (I like that character :( ).

Yeah, Ganthet being robbed of his emotions annoyed me too. But at least it alerted Kyle to the Guardians' descent into Snidely-Whiplash villainy.
