Honestly though, I suspect there's a reason he ditched Thor in the fire other than just to cause chaos. Something about the wording, "the Essence of Surtur himself", along with Thor's "hate" matching up with Loki's "Do you doubt my hate" thing makes me suspicious. It's that or I'm in denial.

Things were looking up a little bit in the Thor title, weren't they? At least that was my take, and I'm sticking to it. Well, clinging to it. Like a teddy bear. Thor's going to figure it out, and everything will work out, and then there will be yelling followed by hugging.

That's what I thought as well. I really hope you're right. Lots of hugging, please. It would be lousy for Loki to leave Asgardia with Thor hating him. Although I suppose in that case there would have to be a reconciliation story in one or two years anyway.

So is Loki actually evil or what? I couldn't tell from the art in the last issue if he was becoming normal Loki again or not either. I just don't get it. I guess that makes me the fool in this equation.

I think he's a...well, I think his intentions are good, let's put it that way, because his methodology is insane. As far as I can tell from the previous issue in this series, the Thor one, he basically risking destroying everything in order to get a hold of a tool to possibly fix it. Maybe.

I'm kind of confused about that bit. Is it literally an ocean of fire? I know Thor's a god and all, but if it's fire which can burn him, how is he even alive? o _o

I'm guessing that's the point of it: to keep everyone, including the readers, guessing until the very end (and maybe even then).

The fan in me is screaming: "My babies, NOOOOOO!", but the writer persists: "Yessss, feed me your delicious emotions. Fall on the sword made sharp with your shortcomings".
The point is that the writer in me is a sadistic bastard and I am loving this.
