I've always rather liked him. He's really an Iron Age hero. Conquer, build, raise strong kids. Modern morality doesn't mean anything to him, he just predates the concept of universality. A tribalist doesn't see anyone outside his tribe as a real person, and he happens to be the only remaining member of his tribe other than his kids, assuming they accept their identify and place in his family, so everybody is kind of fair game.
