Also, it might just be me, but when I first saw that panel of Hawkeye stepping between the two of them I totally interpreted it as him putting the moves on them.
"Excuse me ladies, just testing out my bowstring. Oh these? Yeah I suppose I am pretty ripped, comes with the territory, not that I'd brag...... So, you ladies doing anything tonight?"

And damn them for having Paolo Rivera do so many variant covers, he's my favorite artist and it always gets my hopes up.

Eh, they're clearly different persons. I mean, one of them has a SHIELD (a registered subsidiary of Hydra) emblem on their right shoulder and the other on their left. See, totally different.

This sorta reminds me of that issue of the New Warriors where there were three women standing next to each other and despite the fact that they were respectively black, latino, and chinese, they all looked exactly the same.

Well, Daisy is CLEARLY the shorter one. And Maria's bangs are swept to the side. One could never mistake the two.

Which was how it was presented in Secret War. Only in the epilogue, it totally looked like two Angelina Jolies trading snarky quips with one another.

There's a rather obvious size difference that actually makes it easier to tell them apart if they are standing together...

I kind of think that's the entire point of having them in the same scene. Together I can tell them apart but if their showing up in separate books, unless it's state right away I'm going to wonder which is which.

Well at first glance and without the text you would have a hard time telling the two apart. The real give away in the first panel is the gloves of Quake and Maria's uniform has the chest strap and pistol.

I wouldn't use height as an indicator as some artist tend to overlook height as there have been a few times when they have been drawn at the same height

This is Bendis' work, right? (Tags!) If so, is Bendis lampshading his own Poochie? "I may be only 19, but I have level 10 SHIELD clearance! Do you have level 10 clearance? No, because Bendis said so!" Unless he's about to reveal that this is all unresolved sexual tension and Daredevil gently suggests that they take 30 in the rear compartment of that SHIELD craft, the one with a lock on the door.

Yeah it is Bendis's work. Ahh yes the level 10 clearance is stupid as I think the only other ones with it is Fury and Black Widow. Then the likes of Dugan, Carter and other trustworthy agents with a lot more experience don't have it, the fact that Daisy has it is just stupid with her age.

And I was into anime for a long, long time. But at least with anime, even if there was a trend of sameface with certain art styles, the character designs were vibrant and varied.
