Cool cover, as always. Interesting to see how Ares and Diana's relationship goes in the new universe, especially considering their relationship in Wonder Woman 0, I think it was...

BATMAN, INCORPORATED #9

What, this series is still going? It's just hard to get invested when the threat of Leviathan and co. are being completely ignored in the rest of the Bat Books due to it being kind of not in continuity any more.

...Harper Row is a fan favourite? I mean, she seems cool and all, but I'd prefer it if they'd just let Snyder use Cass like he wanted to in the first place.

Yeah, them calling Harper Row a fan-favorite is really jumping the gun. Personally I'm not all that jazzed by the character, she's neat, but as a rule I could not care less about the civilian companions of superheroes.
I'm with you about Batman Inc. I really feel like it would have been best if DC had left it and Green Lantern in the old DCU to wrap up, since they fit the least well with the new continuity.

The problem with the reboot is that they wanted to go clean slate with everything while keeping all the build up of Batman and Green Lantern. It was something they clearly didn't think through because as it is going to they realising the problems and trying to do shoehorned recons that are not working.

Honestly they if they had to reboot the universe it should have been everything. Since the reboot I have found my interest waning almost to the point that I couldn't be bothered looking at any articles DC related. As it is I'm not reading any of their titles anymore as I have nothing to look forward too.

It's funny--when the New 52 was announced, the only thing on-going in the DCU that was truly worried about being disrupted was Batman Inc. and was JOYOUS when I heard they were going to finish Morrison's story. Now that it's on it's way...it's decent, but the excitement factor has kinda filtered away. I'm not sure if it's because it's not as "important" anymore, or if it's just not as good as Morrison's B&R or the first volume of Inc. was.

I don't think it's jumping the gun. There was largely a positive response to her despite the fact that some people really didn't like the fact she 'replaced' Cass.

But I think people are missing the point in blaming Harper for Cass' non-appearance. It's not like Snyder deliberately removed Cass from the story, he was specifically told he couldn't use her, and blaming a character who he created after changing the story to accommodate her is absolutely stupid.

I like to think of BATMAN INC as the _only_ in-continuity Batbook...

So batman inc doesn't matter because it's self contained? I thought being self contained and not being involved in crossovers and the likes was a good thing?

Also, I wish I cold omega beam the notion about comics only being read worthy on the grounds of it "mattering" out of existence.

Hell, considering what the continuity has become, I don't ~want~ it to come down to continuity.

When this month comes along, Batman Inc. will be the last DC title I'll be reading. It really is the only thing that interests me of them currently seeing as all the rest either does not seem to bring anything new to the table or just hasn't got a minimum of quality in writing or is just problematic altogether.

The fact that it is out of continuity is the icing on the cake, as I find that this need for everything to be involved and perfectly aligned and forever-continuing is more damaging than anything else as time and time goes on. Don't get me wrong, continuity building is fun, but as time and time goes on I find most people are getting too obsessed over it.

Is All Star Western any good? I haven't really heard much about it. But then again, Demon Knights is ignored by most websites and that series is great.

It's as good as Jonah Hex was before it, IMO. So pretty darn good.

The only criticism I've really seen is that they spend an awful lot of time in 1800's Gotham for a book called All-Star WESTERN. Other than that everything that I've read about the book has been positive.

Somebody should clip that quote about Harper Row being a "fan favorite" (since when?) since given DC's record once Snyder is finished with his run she'll either disappear or be used as cannon fodder in a crossover. Such as the fate of any female (barring Kate Kane - so far) in the Batverse.

Also, given that Batman Inc. is not even in continuity basically (I'm sure Talia will turn up at some point somewhere else in the DCU with a completely different personality than the Morrison-version) it makes it even harder to accept the reasons they wouldn't let him finish the story with Cass Cain/Black Bat (a persona he invented) and Stephanie Brown.

DC just callling someone a fan favorite, does not make it so.

I really need to catch up on Demon Knights and All-Star Western looks good, I should probably try a few issues of it.

About that All-Star Western solicit...is it just me, or does that main story sound almost EXACTLY like the story of Return of Bruce Wayne #4?

I'd love if Batman Inc could just "admit" it's not in-continuity and simply start using or acknowledging the existence of Steph's Batgirl, Cass's Black Bat/Batgirl and the likes...
