The Spot has seen better days

Two issues ago, Daredevil figured out that the Spot was behind his latest torments, using his teleportation powers to trick Matt into thinking he'd gone insane. (Moving things in and out of rooms, etc.) One issue ago, Daredevil found out that it actually wasn't the Spot but rather some guy named using the Spot as a power source. In the latest issue, things get funky.

(I love how kind-of meta the Coyote's explanation of "they" is.)

So creepy yet so good. I hope they keep Coyote around, he's got a neat design and I think it'd be worth it to leave him in the company toybox so that other writers can use him. Though I'm pretty sure that if they do the character is pretty much destined to wind up killed off by the Punisher during one of those phases where Marvel tries to make the character more relevant to the superpowered side of the Marvel U. Still though, it's always good to actually have new characters.
It was super cool to see Daredevil navigating his headless body, and Chris Samnee's art is always stellar, I wish more books looked like this.

Daredevil walking around headless reminds me of that Ravenloft module where Azalin has the PC's captured and their heads detached from their bodies...

I'm quite fond of the Spot from the '80s, before he was turned into a total moron and loser.

He was alright in the 90s as a member of the unfortunate "Legion of Losers", appearing to be the only member of the group at all focused on actually makingoney from crime. But no matter how cool he might be written, seeing him on the page is always going to give me the impression of a doubtful young man standing in front of the bathroom mirror, big black floppy ears hanging off the side of his head and a perky black shiny nose on the end of his own, saying to himself "No...if I just go with the 'Spot' idea, they'll take me SERIOUSLY..."

Having said that, if I were writing I'd characterise him as the Dean Craig Pelton of super villainy. Essentially harmless, reasonably smart and a little sweet, but with some kookiness and perversion buried juuuust under the surface.

I think the Legion of Losers was the beginning of the end for him, what turned him into a huge joke. Well, when he debuted in the '80s he nearly defeated Spider-Man, his powers are very good and he's a scientist, he should have the brains to use them intelligently. I think he deserves better stories.

I also love love love his visual design, don't understand what others see of silly in it.

Perhaps 'cool' is poor wording (though Swarm is my favorite villain - favorite as in most interesting anyway, not as in approving of Nazis or swarms of bees).

'Cool' as in his power to use Darkforce and teleportation in interesting ways.
