Seriously? You're still looking forward to that? Isn't Simone the one who (a) retired Dinah from heroics to be a stay at home mom hellbent on making sure Sin was normal and (b) just tried to knock-up Diana? That kind of writing strikes me as characterizations that would normally irritate you.

I mean, I suppose a plot point could be them discussing their horribly misguided attempts at motherhood...I'm just surprised you're looking forward to it.

Upon reading the last post, I wasn't quite convinced I like the idea of Canary suddenly being Irish. Nothing against there being an Irish character, but the wild divergence threw me off...yanno? However, after thinking it over, I've come to the conclusion that there are far far far worse interpretations of Black Canary that a poor man's spandex-clad Fiona Glenanne (http://www.usanetwork.com/series/burnnotice/theshow/characterprofiles/fiona/index.html).

This is like one of those pictures of a vase that turns into two faces when you look at it funny, isn't it? Because I saw the bird right away, but i couldn't figure out what that line underneath it was supposed to be.

I'm sorry, but that "not for the last few days, no" line and "I haven't kissed a SMOKER in WEEKS" always get me laughing. It's like, how many smokers do you usually kiss in a month, Batman? Or has Commissioner Gordon not been very affectionate lately?

I mean, despite his Bruce Wayne playboy persona, I always think of his love affairs as short, very intense and very infrequent. (And that includes Selina, because despite their being "the one" for each other, they're not consistently together.)

It just strikes me as him blatantly lying/exaggerating for the sake of his own ego, here. Which is hilarious, because he's Batman.

In theory, if women in his life knew as much about him as we the audience does, having seen all the facets of him in every incarnation, there might be a lot more women hitting on him. But Batman as he appears here? The dude pretty much lives in his parents' basement a cave, is brutally violent, and kidnapped a boy and told him to eat rats. Not exactly a prize catch, there, Dinah.

Well, keeping in mind that Vicki Vale went all atwitter at the very THOUGHT of dating Bruce Wayne, and throughout her date with him kept slipping into the proverbial 'pinch me, I must be dreaming' state of mind, one may safely assume that he's considered quite a catch. And actually, I can see the ASBAR Wayne being quite the lady's man, in that 'gimme some sugar, baby' macho-man sort of way.
And as for the 'haven't kissed a smoker in WEEKS' thing, come on. This is Frank Miller we're talking about here; he hasn't progressed past his Sin City stage since... well, since he started writing Sin City. And damn near EVERYONE in Sin City smokes, so I can see how Miller's Gotham would be the same - and if ASBAR Wayne IS the lady's man that Vicki seems to think he is, then I'm not surprised he can tell the brand of smokes a lady prefers just by a french kiss - he'd have plenty of opportunity to gain such expertise.

I must say, while there's no particular reason for Black Canary to fill the role, there are worse origins for a female vigilante than finally snapping after a long period of being groped and slobbered over by every blue-collar redneck lowlife in Gotham - which means, basically, every man in Gotham, pretty much. Miller, you're slipping; that almost made sense.
And why is the blond guy called 'Dorothy'? What kind of nickname is that, unless, of course, Miller's trying to imply that the two of them are gay, and if they are, then why are they drooling over the hot new barmaid?
