Hawkeye #7 preview off CBR, one page

It's not even just one thing anymore, this entire damn comic is a treat for everything and everyone involved

And though I have my own issues with the art (no seriously it's like they had a twelve hour deadline for these pages), it is undeniably iconnable

Completely justified.

You don't diss The Boss like that.

I'd pick Kulick over Springsteen in terms of pure guitar playing. He's one of the best ever and massively underrated due to being part of the KISS package. Now overall package? Bruce wins hands down.

So you've been checking out The Boss' package, then?

The art reminds me of newspaper soap opera strips more than anything else. Panel four, with the girl sipping from her mug, totally looks like June Morgan.

Whereas the sixth panel... is that E.T.'s hand?

I really don't want to ship these two because of the age difference, but they're so damn cute together.

Kate should hold an underwear dance-off between Eli, Clint, and Noh-Varr.

Considering they put this one together last minute as a response to Hurricane Sandy (with Fraction even donating his payment for this issue to Sandy victims), I think it looks quite lovely.

(What was originally going to be #7 will be #8 now.)

I did not know that...that's a really cool gesture :)

Newsarama posted an interview late last year with Fraction where he gives the details.

(And on a related note, Fraction is doing a signing at the House of Secrets in Burbank at 6 P.M. on January 30th.)

Still love the comic, but man, this art. It's not bad, it's just a bit mid-tier web-comicish. Apparently it was a bit rushed, though, so that's understandable.

Hawkdog and Aquadog should hang out. Cross-company promotion, yo.

Personally, I like the visceral scratchy-ness of it. The hand of the artist shows through, as they say. Not nearly enough of that in mainstream books, although it took me a long time to appreciate it.

Yeah, the inconsistent art is about the only thing I'm not digging about this series, but Katie's 'get out!' face on this page is pretty damn hilarious though. I'll give the artist that.

Kate's going to be a bridesmaid again?

I'm kinda hoping Iron Lad, Patriot, Wiccan and Hulkling burst in on this one too, just for sheer comedic value.

No, what happens is that they all talk it over like normal people, then go get Speed and reactivate Vision 2.0 in order to go on an epic superhero quest to bring Stature back from the dead.

Because that is the kind of stuff that should happen in superhero comics and I'll hear no words to the contrary.

Well, yeah, that's the stuff that would happen if superhero books were written for the readers, rather than making the editors happy.

Although some writers are all too happy to pull off that sort of rollicking adventure.

Hey, if Iron Lad had gotten his way, we wouldn't need an epic superhero quest to revive Stature. Nate had an entirely reasonable plan for saving her ( It worked for Miguel O'Hara to revive Peter Parker in the 'Edge of Time' video game) and everyone stopped him because they didn't like using time travel to fix things.

To be fair, everytime Iron Lad tried to fix the past he wound up making things worse & everyone knows he grows up to become Kang the Conqueror. The tantrum he throws after they tell him it's not happening is the big hint, IMO, that he hasn't thought his plan through.

Also, if he'd just done what he was told back in YA#6 (Memories...) we wouldn't need to discuss reviving Stature in the first place. Granted, Scott would (Probably) still be dead, but Cass wouldn't be.

But Iron Lad's whole thing is that he doesn't want to become Kang. It was rather cold of everyone to tell him to go home and wipe his own memories so that he would become a time travelling murderer in the first place. It also made Kang seem less evil considering that now instead of a guy who decided to be a time travelling conquerer, he would now be a would-be superhero who the Avengers literally forced to become a supervillain because it was the easiest way.

And he didn't really have time to think his plan to save Cassie through, seeing as the longer he waited, the harder it would be to find medical technology that could save her.

I could see a Kate-goes-to-visit-Eli-and-Clint-tags-along story that would only end in tears of laughter. But yeah, doubtful Iron Lad could make a reappearance that wasn't a downer even if time shenanigans were involved.

LOLing forever at Kate's expression in the third-to-last panel. LOLing even harder that she keeps pointing at the door even after he leaves (and that the whole page opens up with a chibi version of her to begin with).

The art looks pixilated, sorta like it was done in MS paint, but as it was rushed, its forgivable.

Yes! I mean it's just a few minutes of work in GIMP to do these things, and I know once I throw these things out here I have zero control over their use. Since this isn't my art to begin with I don't feeel posessive of them.
