Whilst still not a fan of the whole "Illuminati" thing, I'll give credit for them explaining why Hank is eligible to join
From Newsarama's preview of issue 3.
Hank is the beneficiary of Charles Xavier'sestate, and the final bequest is a simple piece of paper with the word "Remember" on it... Hank looks at it and...

And guess what the shiny thing is! :) (You can find out by following the link to Newsarama where the other pages are! :) )

Date: 2013-01-31 08:01 pm (UTC)that's the password?
I think ones own birthday or mother's maiden name would be a safer choice.

Date: 2013-01-31 08:07 pm (UTC)Doug would NEVER allow such a lax password regime on any network he was affiliated with.

Date: 2013-01-31 09:09 pm (UTC)If I wanted to explain it away the actual password is not "gifted" that is just the output you see if you are getting it correct and the actual password is some sort of combination of keys alone with no labels on the keys... Or perhaps a long number to go with the standard ten number plus others keypad. Maybe some sort of time limit on how fast it will accept tries so as to prevent someone with some sort of speedster power trying every possible combination in some ridiculously short amount of time.

Date: 2013-01-31 08:02 pm (UTC)If I remember correctly:
Faked it, killed by the Brood and cloned, heart attack during the trial of Magneto, killed by Legion, shot in the head by Bishop, Phoenix'd to death by Scott.
Man, I would hate to work in any bureaucracy in the Marvel universe. It must be so complicated.

Date: 2013-01-31 09:02 pm (UTC)Legion killed him in the past, thus eradicating (for a while) the whole timeline.
In an issue of "She-Hulk" during a court case, she did ask for a straw poll amongst the court as to who had died at least once, and (Since Thanos DID kill half the Universe for a while) half the people there raised their hand.
And it's another reason I wanted to see Doug deal with the reality of coming back from the dead in a world where that's not completely unheard of (Religious figures to one side).

Date: 2013-01-31 10:16 pm (UTC)Well... You were roasted to death by one of your former students who now floats between absolute denial and solemn acceptance over what he's done dependent upon the writer, but generally, no-one gives a fuck except for the murderous, hairy-ass Canadian who threatened to kill a kid to bring you back. Oh. And Erik shaved his hair off for you.
Somewhere out there in the great beyond, Charles Xavier is facepalming with a strength of over nine thousand.
