Pitarra's art may be reasonably good in close-ups and in-your-face widescreen action, but when he draws things from a distance his human figures are just ridiculously bad and stiff.

Looking forward to the second TPB of this series, it's weird and quite enjoyable. I think Hickman said in an interview that he's not planning this out to the degree that he does his Marvel work, and I find that to give this series an unconventional feel.

Having no idea what the background/premise on this comic is....makes reading these scans a very interesting experience. Gloriously surreal.

Or that's pretty much what I got from those first pages. Mexican-looking guy in a suit and luchadore mask? Cliche. Egyptian guy who speaks in hieroglyphs and has a snake theme? The former's slightly novel, but, cliche. Sitting on thrones of money? Cliche. I'm surprised Hickman didn't go all out and have an image of one of them lighting a cigar or some shit using dollar bills. I'm also really kinda insulted - and I'm not even American - at the notion of the guy who pushed the New Deal to make his country a better place, screeching about people getting on their knees before him as the representative of an evil council of rich people.

Absolutely yawnworthy. Each time I see pages from this I just get increasingly annoyed at Hickman butchering the identities and lives of people who actually existed.

Well, Hawkeye always looks decent, but I'm a trade waiter, but.. Manhattan Projects over Saga, seriously? The latter is some of the most fun I've had with science fiction since the original Mass Effect, to say nothing of the art, which is.. Well, not to be unkind, but infinitely superior to that of MP.
