[personal profile] spidermanwashere posting in [community profile] scans_daily

I didn't see anyone posting this yet, which is a terrible if I do say so myself.

While there are many great X-books out there, this may be my favorite one, which is a shame as it seems to be underrated and outshined by Wolverine and his amazing friends and Cyclops with his shenanigans (although I do enjoy those books as well). If you have not read this series I urge you to pick it up.

The posts deal with the budding relationship between Blindfold and Legion (Blegion?) from X-men Legacy 7. I considered posting the scenes with Agent Brand instead, who is delightful as ever, and the dealings of spacecrime, but I opted for Blegion as I'm finding myself surprised with how much I'm liking the pairing and both of their character developments (although I couldn't stop laughing at "Justice! Mighty justice from space!") If someone had told me two years ago that they would try to make these two a plausible couple I would never believe it, but hey, here we are.

The story picks up with David deciding to check out the religious hate-group that Ruth's brother Luca was apart of, which called for a bit of theatrics:

After deceieving the group David is brought to a room and left alone to pray, but instead converses with Ruth, who is astral projecting and following him.

So Legion is getting rid of problems that face his people before they escalate, which makes him like a one man X-Force, but with less sharks porting into villains.

I like where this is going. Also, space justice.

So Brand shows up due to Legions handiwork the last couple issues to deal out some of that space justice and gets tricked into hulling of the zealots instead. She give David a "I'll be watching you" sign and leaves. Hopefully we'll see her again, as there's no such thing as too much Brand.

So David gets a second date and a book of prophecies. I'd call that a good day.

The arts a little off compared to the other books, but the writing here more than makes up for it.

Anybody out there enjoying these books as much as me? It's one of the book I really look forward to.

Space Justice!

You beat me to it! This has been one of my favorite books so far. I've grown pretty interested in Legion and this relationship has been both adorable and hilarious.

Loving this series, it's one of the books I look forward to most each month. I wasn't sure about it after just the first issue but it quickly kicked into high gear and hasn't looked back since.

The art was definitely a little off this month, I think it's mostly the faces, but the book as a whole has a had a pretty consistent look to it from the start, even across multiple artists.

And I like Legion's vest.

Oh man, I love this series. Blegion is amazing, the writing is amazing, everything about it is wonderful. I loved Legion's rant about how insulting his code-name was to his mental condition and his confession to the priests/flirtation with Ruth. This book is freaking golden.

He should count his blessing that he isn't a member of the LoSH.

...it's so weird seeing my babies the X-Kids in romances that are potentially more than teen crushes. Especially given that there's got to be a pretty big age gap between Ruth and David.

It's hard to tell with comic-time. Legion's somewhat older than the original New Mutants, while the last time I think one of the X-Kids had an age mentioned was Anole during the X-Dudes story (he was 15 then).

The original New Mutants ranged from 13 (Rahne) to 20 or so (Xi'an) and I thought David was sort of in the middle.

Remembering what happened when Legion was last alone with a blind precog gives this kinda weird undercurrent.

You're not really alone when you have the Shadow King.

You're never alone with the Shadow King. The psychic entity you can depend on.

This actually looks kind of interesting. I've never been interested in Legion or Blindfold, but this makes them look quite interesting, so I might pick this up anyway. Though... why does Legion sound Scottish? He was raised in Israel, wasn't he?

Yes, but he spent a lot of time on Muir Island where his primary caregiver was Moira MacTaggart.

So is Legacy more than just The Rogue Show now? Because boredom with Rogue was why I stopped following it.

It's been made the David Haller show. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't end up taking the code-name "Legacy". If not, it's still a clever combo on Spurrier's part of Haller's original code-name and new purpose in life.

This made me interested in Legion, and by extension some of the X-Universe, so it's definitely my favourite X-Book at the moment. I'm glad they're giving Si this kind of gig.

Additionally, I've decided that David Tennant is the only choice for Legion if he ever makes it into an X-Movie. He's already got good experience at playing Patrick Stewart's vengeance-crazed son...

This sounds interesting, and as someone who is pretty much done with the DCnU, I'm on the lookout for something worth following.

Unfortunately, the size of these scans makes it very difficult for me to read the dialog.
