I heartily concur. I tried watching the first episode but the style didn't appeal to me. Come to think of it, I'm not into MLP either. I tried watching a bit of it on Youtube to get an idea of what it's about but discovered it was basically the same as the original MLP. I suppose there's a large overlap between the fanhood of both shows.
Wrong on both counts. The original show barely ever had consistent characters across episodes at all, and was all about the setting; the current show is based all but exclusively around six specific characters, and the adventures are only secondary. Moreover, the average fan of the latter tends not to be a fan of the former, though I couldn't give you numbers for the other way around.
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.

Date: 2013-03-24 01:55 pm (UTC)Because I tried watching Gravity Falls and just didn't care for it (Nor am I a fan of MLP: FIM come to that).
There's nothing innately wrong with it, but I find the humour sort of laboured, especially the "Gruncle" character.
