Wait they left him there to die? Not that I have a problem with that, but I thought he just said that was unacceptable?
Also if Franklin has his reality altering powers somewhat under control why not just use them for something small like kicking Blastar off the ship and fixing it rather than manipulating space and time itself?
"Blastaar, you're an immortal, incredibly powerful war criminal on a cosmic scale. So we're going to send you into our own distant past without monitors or guards, where we hope that the environment will kill you before you can escape and completely screw up history. Nothing can go wrong!"
If Sue and Reed wanted you know they could have Franklin fix everything (I was disappointed they didn't even bring him up in AvsX given he's the most powerful mutant in the world and all).
Also has Bagley completely given up on trying to draw Franklin and Val as "Big Brother" and "Little Sister" who are SEVERAL years apart. They're even drawn the same size now. Val is still supposed to something like 3 or 4.
They do look like twins. And there's that one very odd panel where they look like they're conjoined. But mostly it's not how alike they are that bugs me, so much as how badly they're drawn. They don't look like children at all, and Val definitely does not look like a toddler. I had thought the kids were supposed to be pretty typical, physically, not that I follow FF all that closely. Did I miss something about their development or is this just bad art? Cause when you actually contradict the facts of the story, that's some big-time art!fail.
I don't think Val is THAT young. Based on Hickman run, it seemed like Franklin was around 10-12, while Val was like 7. But it is really hard to say because she's a kid genius.
If they were at the Big Bang, shouldn't Galactus have been evident, since he was a holdover from the LAST Universe, who survived the Big Bang to become what he is?
That depends on whether Galactus was inside the new universe when it began it's expansion or whether he was outside of it. Given that there was no "outside" of the universe he would have in fact been his own separate universe if he was not inside the new universe. So either way he would have been rather difficult to observe.
Nonetheless I did expect Galactus to be quietly watching from some corner, with a poker face thinking something like "oh great, how novel, time-traveling tourists, just like every other Big Bang, ever."
He was inside the Cosmic Egg that was left of the last universe, which then exploded as the current one's big bang. In the original Kirby telling of his origin there's even a shot of his ship flying out of it.
There's some question of exactly how soon after the beginning his recreated ship would be condensed out of the energy around it, though. If I recall correctly the early universe is so hot that it's essentially opaque for thousands of years after the start. I don't believe he actually took on his current form until the Watchers encountered him several billion years later.
Again, if we go by the original Kirby version, it was at the exact moment of the explosion. And while he hadn't yet adopted Galactus-wear when the Watcher found him, eons after that going by the narration, he had a physical representation. Man, or maybe Watcher, like (since a Watcher was observing him) form and all.
