Damn, but I wish we had this Luke Cage back. Maybe he IS a hopeless '70's anachronism - but he's OUR hopeless '70's anachronism, dammit!
And I don't think that he doesn't like snakes so much as he doesn't like snakes that SPRING OUT AT HIM LIKE A JACK IN THE BOX. I mean, would you?

I wouldn't, but I don't have steel-hard skin their fangs can't penetrate!. I'd expect that kind of thing to make a man a bit more mellow, y'know?

Yeah, but he only GOT steel-hard skin as an adult - he didn't grow up with it, or even gradually acquire it, as Superman did. Therefore, his immediate instincts are still the same - he's not thinking 'Huh! Snakes! Stupid people, don't they know snakes can't bite me', he's thinking 'Sweet Christmas, SNAKES! BITEY, BITEY SNAKES! DON'T LET 'EM GET ME!' He snaps out of it within seconds, of course, but you can hardly blame the guy for having an 'AAIIEE!' moment first.

Yikes! The dialogue makes me... uncomfortable. In a way similar to, but not exactly like, 70s WW. Also, probably written by pretty much the same guys.

I'm glad he's got steel hard skin, though. And is rocking the 70s.
