Captain Atom fly into space as Superman tries desperately to get out of Atom grip on his throat.

Injustice: Gods Among Us #33

Batman's disastrous assault on Superman's fortress comes to a brutal end. As last issue when Superman and Captain Atom was fighting. Part of the fortress ceiling ice came crushing down dividing the team. Ollie got stuck on one side of the fortress with Clark's parents.

Ollie uses his head to make Clark not think straight so he could send a arrow with a hidden superhuman pill tape on through a opening in the fortress. Batman and team find the arrow. Batman tells Black canary they will wait for him, but she knows that Ollie is already dead.

Am I supposed to be bothered that Superman went & effortlessly killed Ollie by punching him? I've already seen him do worse things, four months ago when the game came out.

Honestly, I just stopped caring about the comic after Dick Grayson's death by falling.

EDIT: Just to be clear, my comment about not being bothered about Ollie's death was more about DC still publishing this comic leading into their upcoming video game months after said video game has been released, rather insulting you for posting this.

Just thought I should clear that up after I re-read it. =)

For the record the lead up to Captain Atom's death is the only good thing I have seen out of this whole mess. CA died very heroically.

can you please try to avoid giving such big spoilers for issues on the day they come out?

Didn't this all happen...and better in Mark Waid's Irredeemable (which was itself based on the idea of what-if Superman snapped)?

I do wonder what will happen with Clark's parents.

It seems like every time I see Captain Atom, someone is rupturing his containment suit.

I admit that I haven't been reading the series (nor have I played the game), but man, is this a depressingly bleak book. It just gets worse every time something from it gets posted here.

Well, at least he didn't take Ollie's arm off first.

I feel that the plot has become a tiny bit repetitive.

Out of curiosity, does DC ever plan for this series to catch up to the actual events of the game and Superman's eventual fall, and possibly the aftermath? That would actually be interesting, this just seems like a death march.

At least it looks to be becoming a somewhat better written and drawn death march though, so that's something.

What the hell did Flash mean when he said he didn't realize Batman was capable of this? Captain Atom was under orders (from the US government I assume) to blow up if he had to; Batman didn't make him.

Guh, it's just so dumb that Team Injustice are acting like the other side are being meanies who keep attacking them. They can't be that clueless can they? (Rhetorical question, I know.)

Also, I'd like to know how Superman faces his mom after all he's done. Maybe he's gonna do what he did in the Justice Lords arc in JLU and imprison her in an ivory tower 'for her own good'.

I think the part I dislike the most about Injustice Superman is his tendency to blame everyone else for making him do bad things. Despite the whole "For Want of a Nail" thing the writers are trying to push, I still doubt that mainstream Supes could ever become like this even if hit by the same tragedy. The REAL Superman actually knows a thing or two about personal responsibility and integrity.

Doesn't Captain Atom just reform and reappear after blowing up?

Wait, so Flash is *still* sympathetic to Clark despite everything that he has done? Wow Wally, you're real scary.
