Villains Being Awesome: Nyssa al Ghul

Nyssa al Ghul, aka Nyssa Raatko, wasn't in the Bat-universe for very long, even though I think she had a lot of potential. As Talia's half-sister and Ra's al Ghul's daughter, she had all of Talia's charms without any "Oh, beloved!" stuff when it came to Batman. And she had a real plan to deal with the Secret Society during INFINITE CRISIS.

Umm, lots of people tried to assassinate those three dictators, Nyssa. They just never succeeded.

I'm (aggressively) apathetic to the al-Ghul clan, except for Nyssa. I actively hate her.

What she did to Talia in "Death and the Maidens" struck me as her reading TKJ and going "Pffft. Amateur." at what the Joker did.

Nyssa was completely wasted. You had someone who wasn't so willing to just spend time fucking around trying to get Batman with his daughter and who didn't respect him as much as a Ra's did, and yet had entirely the same capabilities and a really rather tragic backstory, and the best DC could come up with was 'fuck this, we need the iconic guy back even though he was cremated and wanted to die at the hands of his daughters, let's carbomb her out of existence'.

To be honest I never really liked Nyssa, even before she decided to treat Cass like her personal property due to Ra's al Ghul commissioning her creation.
