Nope. The kid's father is the older DCAU take on Jax-Ur. Zod never popped up in the DCAU, presumably because they were trying to avoid being linked to closely with any movies and the like. Similarly, they never brought Faora or Ursa into the DCAU, I think.

i think they did bring in Faora (she was the white haired female kyptonian who relased Jax-Ur in the animated series i think)

They do appear to be just treating this with selective continuity, and to be fair, the DCAU never acknowledged the comics that were being published at the same time as the shows being made.

"Zod" sounds too antiquated; I think they should update it for this character.

I wouldn't see it as a big thing. Of course Phantom Zone folk (especially ones like Jax-Ur) are going to see Zod as admirable. Less a reflection on the named than on the namer.

Now if Zod II there says "Yeah, I know who General Zod is. I think he's neat," THEN you go "Uh oh..."
