I'd have thought the Asgardians would have had a Chamberlain, or some term not quite so tied into Middle Eastern terminology.

Though then again, there was that "What if..?" where Cypher is appointed Vizier to Storm when she becomes ruler of Asgard

This is made weirder by my memory of a number of stories in which Thor could not only breathe in space, but talk so that mortal comrades in spacesuits could hear him. (To say nothing of ones in which Asgardians sail Viking ships through space...)

It is easy enough to fan wank. There's probably Asgardian magic that allows the whole talking, breathing and sailing through space. Thor was trying to go straight form Asgard to Earth so he didn't bother with preparation. It's really just an excuse for him to be in dire straights so he'll crash injured on the planet the Celestials are about to Judge.
