In which She-Hulk hires a fellow Avenger for her new law practice...

"I've been practicing law for quite a while now - and I think that it would be silly of me not to bring that experience to writing a character with a law degree. The way it plays out is pretty fun, I think. I get to sort of write the Marvel Universe version of my own life." -- Charles Soule

To get her mind off her worrying lack of clients, Jennifer goes for a night on the town with Hellcat.

So, Kristoff is grown-up. And Franklin is... exactly the same as he's always been. Time to repeat "reality manipulation" three times and chug one. This drinking game is a killer.

Also that "Heh." was too cute.

It's Reed's artifical gravity back-up generator.

Becuase of the number of times the Baxter Building and Four Freedoms Plaza has been shot into space, sent into alternated dimensions and who knows what else, Reed naturally started planning for these contingencies. So, Four Freedoms Plaza has it's own independent gravity field; which is set at a constant, comfortable 1 G.

Nobody notices the difference within the building, but the laws of physics do! Basically, the gravity generator is causing a larger than normal bending of spacetime within the confines of the building, as a result time in fact flows at a different rate. They have lost a few minutes each day, but the cumulative effect over the years is staggering. Thus Franklin remains a kid while everyone else of his generation is already a teenager.

Is Hellcat supposed to be so....squashed looking? I mean... its not just she is shorter than She Hulk, because She Hulk is huge, but... it looks like she doesn't have a neck in the costume.

In a couple of poses she seems to be crouching forward with her head tilted back to look straight ahead, so her neck would be obscured from view via perspective. In other panels she looks fine.

Her whole look is kinda Kirbyish. So, maybe intentional homage?

Was Patsy ever an Avenger? I know she was with the Defenders way back in the day, but I don't really recall her ever being in any kind of line up for the series.

She debuted as Hellcat in the Avengers, but wasn't really a member (or if she was it was a casual sort of a thing) as she joined the Defenders the following year.

Not sure if she's a card carrying member, but after her resurrection they've at least treated her as one of their own.

1. Love the Kevin Wada cover.
2. Oh Hellcat, you really don't have much in the way of powers. Able to sense mysticism and some vague vulnerability to it. You just don't have much use to most of the MU.

Yet Patsy might be the third longest-running Marvel character, at least without gaps of more than a few years in her publication history. Who'd have thought?

I love the AIM guy is fighting She-Hulk solely for his kids, on the minor hope he can take her out(or Hellcat) and than get promoted. And his colleague being like 'No, don't be stupid, they'll get bored eventually and one of them is drunk anyway.'

Well, on the one hand. Go big or go home, no guts no glory, and fortune favors the bold.

On the other hand: Dude, you're AIM. You're the jobbers that gets beat up and their lunch money stolen by other jobbers. HYDRA and the Hand are LAUGHING at you. There could be 200 of you guys there and you probably couldn't do more than make She Hulk and Hellcat laugh themselves to death. The two of you? She Hulk is not sweating you.

I mean, you want to get a promotion? You got a better chance doing that in the lab trying to make Cosmic Cube 2.0 or something like that. The only thing fighting She Hulk is gonna get you is a broken jaw.

It's not just you, man. I don't mind a simpler style, but the heads are nearly reaching South Park-levels of 'cut and paste on a circle'.

I'm going to discord with the line of 6 people above me and just say I love this art.

It's colorful, it uses constrast in a sharp and clear way and it avoids unecessary use of shine and reflections that make everything look like plastic. Its outlines are creatively defined and it works ona fine line between caricature and relaity. It's drawing in the way that comics need drawing, a way to tell a story in a unique and characteristic way.

It's also not GenericDrawingStyle#57 as DC is pushing through otherwise talented people such as Gary Frank, Ivan Reis, etc... which is making it just seem like output out of a assembly line.

Nor do I like She-Hulk's new costume. It would work if it wasn't for the silly S and H details.

So is the monkey a Chekhov gun or Chekhov gunman?

So is Ms Huang going to turn out to be an immortal of some sort? That sort of vague "oh... since forever" comment is usually foreshadowing of some sort of extraordinary lifespan.

Personally, I'm hoping Angie is just a red hering. I like the idea of a perfectly normal woman with her ever present helper monkey, just for the quirkiness of it all.

At first I was like, 'why is She-Hulk hiring her?' and thought she was warping her brain. But then I thought about how weird the Brooklyn of the Marvelverse must be... maybe you just stop noticing.

I'm reasonably sure that Kristoff should be, like, fifteen right now. Maybe sixteen. Considering that he and Cassie Lang had a pre-pubescent pre-romance together, thus setting her up for a lifetime of crushing on/being crushed on by every boy around her age with tech-based powers...

Yeah, but I'm sure he's bounced around through time a bit. Maybe taken dad's Time Platform for a joyride. Bummed around the future with Uncle Nathaniel for a while. Not to mention weekend trips with the Tomorrow Man.
