Back in present time. Barry deals with the aftermath of the Forever Evil event and the devastating effect it had in Central City.



25 years into the future.

I wonder if DC or any of its writer will ever acknowledge that Barry Allen (formerly St. Barry Allen of Crisis) has now become the biggest super-villain in DC History. Has anyone messed up more people's lives? Or eliminated them entirely? Remember when Hal as Parallax was supposed to be the worst person ever and all the heroes ganged up against him (and Green Arrow actually put an arrow through his BFF's heart) for TRYING to do the same stuff Barry has done since Flashpoint?

Also this leap forward to the future and starting in media res didn't work the last time DC tried it (remember One Year Later and all its gimmicks that didn't last?) and I'll wager it won't work now. It's just a sign of lazy writing (something big happened, but rather than tell THAT story let's start it years later...)

I'll admit to not being that familiar with Barry (the most of him I've seen as the actual Flash is his appearance in the Young Justice show), what with being more familiar with Wally, what with him being the Flash for the majority of both the comics that I read and in all the media I'd seen (JLU and whatnot), but from what I've seen he's not exactly the most compelling character.

Urgh, I honestly do hope that the Future's End storyline DOES turn out to be Barry's fault, as he seems to be reducing the space-time continum to the consistancy of wet tissue at the moment.
