BPRD: 1946 - Part 5

The soldiers, American and Soviet alike, begin fighting Von Klempt's robogorillas, while Trevor runs after the head-in-a-jar in person. This leads him to the rest of the vampires, which are contained in their tanks still, and placed inside a giant rocket (not as daft as it sounds, Klempt was previously established in Hellboy as one of the brains behind the Nazi space program). He gets ambushed by one of the Kriegaffen though.



One of the surviving soldiers manages to get onto the rocket, cutting power to the cryotubes, meaning that the vampires inside would soon suffocate. Von Kempt, however, ignores this and dedices to go full supervillain, even as the damage caused by the soldiers and his own kriegaffen are causing some of the vampires to awaken and break free of their pods...



Klempt continues to monologue: "Even if only a fraction of the vampires survive the impact... America will become a nightmare nation in a matter of months! I shall be victorious! And the world will forever shudder in horror... when it hears the name VON KLEMPT!!!"

The soldier finds a parachute, and gives it to Trevor, who protests that the sargeant should be the one to use it. The sargeant thinks otherwise though, and says that if crap like they'd seen recently is meant to be the future of warfare, they'll need Trevor more than they'd need the likes of him... and promptly pushes him out of the rocket through a door he forces open in the side.

He then dies fighting the last kriegaffen and the vampires, as he stabs the gorilla, making it fall into one of the rocket's engines, making the entire thing explode, saving the day. Yay!

Trevor manages to open his parachute, and lands, badly, in the south of France.

Well he was potentially evil up until he got some pancakes, as I recall...

I love that look she gives him when he says he was in the rocket when it exploded.

Its just a look that says "Really? You really believe that killed him? Killed Mr. 'was willing to put his disembodied head in a jar to cheat death'?"

The sergeant's sacrifice was so badass and selfless. Not a lot of people would prioritize someone else over themselves on pure 'Who is more expendable' logic when he already had enough reason to loathe Trevor for getting so many of his boys killed despite the war being over.

So does the little girl/demon continue to be a friend to humanity, or does she turn evil later on?

Hm, well in the modern day BPRD books it was revealed that she IS still around, but her disposition towards humanity has soured somewhat.

I love how she takes off her backpack to grab the files, like she knows what Trevor is going to ask for, but still plays with him before handing them over.

Also, simply love that her doll is now burnt and she's still carrying it.
