The Black Flame begns his reign of terror, incinerating a homeless man in front of his friends one evening, before torching an entire tenement block as he goes to make his "debut" as a supervillain. Wald is impressed, with Raimund there no one will tie things back to him, though he hasn't quite grasped what the Black Flame actually IS yet, assuming that he's just a dude in some kind of fire-proof suit.
Raimund, understandably annoyed at someone machinegunning him and ruining his coat, grabs Massimo and slowly starts burning him to death. Harry attempts to ram him in with his taxi to free his friend, only for the pair to disappear in a puff of smoke, to Harry and the Lobster's alarm.
Elsewhere, Kamala is showing off her skillset, which is a lot less theatrical than her husband's. Using her own magic, she cuts Massimo's partially burnt corpse open and absorbs his knowledge with necromancy. Now armed with everything he knows about the Lobster's operation, the magicians and Wald begin phase two of their attack...
Later, Cindy manages to evade Theo using the "pretend to be asleep and sneak out when the person watching isn't looking" thing seen in the Iron Giant. Whilst calling her editor to let him know she's alright, the hotel she was hiding out in (and Theo) promptly explode from a bomb placed by Wald's gangsters...
