Wolverine wants to know who the client is, and Viper tells him he'll have to earn it.




They battle, and Sabretooth apparently scratches out one of Wolverine's eyes. He's about to kill him when Lady Deathstrike arrives and stabs him in the back. Wolverine stops her before she can finish him off, saying he's poisoned and chained, and when he dies it's not going to happen this way. She lets him leave.

Haven't been reading as I don't care for Wolverine and even less for his death that he'll return from in a year.

Didn't Marvel say he wasn't coming back till sometime in 2016? Not that an additional year makes a HUGE difference....

I think they said they have their stories planned up to 2016 and they haven't made any plans on bringing him back yet.

You also have to take into consideration that they could be lying in order to 'surprise' their readers, like when Dan Slott kept insisting that Peter Parker would stay dead, then at the end of 'Superior' basically said 'Ha, I got you! Peter was coming back the whole time!' and acted like it was some shocking reveal even though everyone over the age of 12 already know that from day 1.

Which makes the second time in the last two months Logan had a chance to nail Creed and passed.

I tell you... some villains really are like mad dogs, and it would be doing the world a favor to put them down once and for all. ESPECIALLY if you're an ex-soldier, ex-government agent, ex-ninja, etc, with a history of killing opponents.

Sabretooth is an example of someone who doesn't learn, doesn't change, doesn't "get better" and doesn't stop murdering innocent people. Logan can try to live up to lofty ideals, but at what point is it just plain ridiculous for him to keep letting Sabretooth live? He's not Captain America, who believes everyone has a seed of redemption buried within him. He's not Spider-Man, who doesn't believe in killing and who has sworn a no killing around him oath.

Hell, he's killed Sabretooth before. Finish the damn job, Logan. Before Sabretooth kills and possibly eats another person you care about. Leave the damn morality plays to other people.

Creed's come back from everything including having his soul destroyed, so maybe Logan's just starting to figure out the genre conventions. What I still find more incredible is that Viper didn't off the guy when she had the chance.

Kinda, yes. She married Logan after all. And what's happened to everyone he's married since Silver Fox? Add to that the fact that Creed's attack gave a joint Hydra/Hand team a chance to kidnap her and try to brainwash her into Madame Hydra again and there's really no love lost between them.

Didn't Deathstrike die? And then she was downloaded and used to turn the teenage heir of a Colombian drug lord into a new Deathstrike? One with a Mexican day of the dead theme?

And then the human host commited suicide because she got in over her head. So she should be doubly dead.

Not just that; IIRC, they then downloaded Madelyne Pryor onto the body (or at least, they downloaded her into some body, I'm pretty sure it was the same body, but it might have been a different one), and from what I can gather, Deathstryke would be dead from that.

With all due respect to Soule, the dude is NOT respecting the current state of affairs for anyone right now, and that bugs me a lot.

Doesn't Sabertooth also have a healing factor? Wouldn't that prevent Viper's poison from killing him?

Yeah, this bothered me too. Poison should only briefly slow him down. Unless he's lost his healing factor too for some reason?

Viper's used poisons that specifically counter healing factors in the past. Creed only survived last time because Kitty phased him while she was trying to deliver the poison.

She really is kinda the best there is in her field, which is poison making, so it's not really surprising that she'd have something that affects even Logan and Creed.

Healing factors have their limits. Wolverine's was weakened for a long time because it kept the adamantium in his body from poisoning him to death. X-23 has a better healing factor since she doesn't have as much adamantium, and she still nearly died when Nimrod -- a future version of the robots specifically designed to kill mutants -- blasted her. Makes sense that a master poisoner like Viper could cook up something deadly enough to threaten Sabertooth's life.
