"Altough this quote talks about artists, I can relate it to any kind of work. Teachers, scientists, astronauts, journalists, if you discourage someone of doing what this person loves to do, we might be missing out someone who would do amazing things to his/her field"

Of course, its noted that artists in particular need encouragement because they're more often discouraged than other 'legit' professions, but still.
