Now scans_daily welcomes those of all religious persuasions, or no religious persuasion at all, and long may it continue to do so.
And whilst appreciating that there are those for whom this day is not particularly special, or whose religious celebrations occur at other times of the year, I hope no one will be offended if I post a couple of Christmas themed special pieces.
First up from the ever awesome Black Cat, a sort of remix of an old favourite Christmas song....
Happy Holidays to All by The-BlackCat on DeviantArt
Next up another classic from Mike Maihack in his season Batgirl and Supergirl strips...
Merry Christmas 2014 from Batgirl and Supergirl by mikemaihack on DeviantArt
:)
A couple of late additions! Hal and Barry being adorable!
Christmas 2014 by DeanGrayson on DeviantArt
And Billy and Teddy likewise, with added elf/beefcake undertones...
Merry Christmas! by Cris-Art on DeviantArt
And lastly, it has been my custom for the last few years to have a commissioned piece of art prepared for the Festive season, and though this one is available more down to luck than judgement I'm going to claim it was my plan all along.
So here we have my latest from Mitch Ballard, which took my idea of having assorted members of the Batfamily stuck inside suitably Gotham-style giant prop snowglobes and basically turned it up to 11!

Please click on the image to go to the bloody enormous sized version of this, to catch all the insane levels of crazy detail Mitch through in because he wanted to challenge himself!

Date: 2014-12-26 01:24 am (UTC)For Superman, maybe he borrowed some tech from Captain Cold, to slow down molecular motion on the atomic level so reducing his speed, making heat vision ineffective and basically reducing him to something closer to human normal.
For Hal, graduallly lower the temperature around the city, making it harder to think, then blast him with enough cold to induce a hyopthermic state which would shut down his consciousness thus preventing him materialising his ring constructs. In such a situation, the ring might abandon him to find a temporary new wielder (as it did when Jon Stewart was first chosen....
And so on...

Date: 2014-12-26 02:53 am (UTC)On the other, shame on you for contributing to the image of Freeze as a gimmicky evil-with-a-capital-E (and probably pun-spouting) supervillain instead of a lonely, tragic anti-villain. He still hasn't recovered from that travesty Shumacher put him through!

Date: 2014-12-26 11:29 am (UTC)In the past I have sought to deny others the emotions that I no longer feel, and I have come to the conclusion that you and your ilk instil the most dangerous emotion of them all; Hope. Hope for a better world, hope in the aspiration to succeed, all these are dangerous emotions.
You and your apprentice are particularly dangerous Batman, neither of you possess superpowers of any sort, and yet in your circus sideshow ycostumes you continue to strive and win against more powerful opponents, giving hope to millions. That is not the sort of message that should be sent out, even less so in the case of Robin... a mere CHILD after all.
As I no longer have hope of saving my beloved Nora, I see no reason that others should share in that emotion either, and removing you all from the human equation will significantly reduce that emotion.
Your counterparts, those who you define as "supervillains", are just as bad, in sowing dischord and chaos they create many more emotions. They must be excised too, so that that whole world may know a chillier, more hopeless world, one more appropriate for those they call Mr Freeze."
