No, I think they were all quite serious in wanting him to change out of the "elf shoes and feathered trunks" look, but were unaware everyone else had done the same thing.

I hope the end result would be him deciding that HE likes his outfit, and that's what matters.

Well, if nothing else, he now has a variety of outfits that he can wear on special occasions. Funeral? Nightwing outfit, possibly with a tie. Party? Disco Nightwing outfit. Playing on the jungle gym? Ninja shoes Robin. Halloween? Chicken suit.
