Funny you should say that, Jerry Robinson always said that the original plan when creating Robin back in 1940 has been for him to have super powers, enhanced-strength was the most likely, so he'd stand a more reasonable chance in fights, but the idea was dropped before his debut.

Damian insufferable enough WITHOUT powers, him being mini-Superman would have been intolerable.

Also Bat Folk with superpowers is weird, hence Misfit not being made an official Batgirl like Dan Didio wanted.

Well, yea, in the *meta* sense, I totally get it.

But, in character... he's a hero, he's powerful, that's not a *minus* generally. Unless either he'd lose them anyway under less controlled conditions, or they were dangerous, or something can be done with the power's energy, it seems an odd move. Unless the characters in-universe believe 'Bats with powers is weird' that strongly too!

Perhaps the fact they COULD be drained suggests that they weren't reliable or predictable enough to be THAT valuable an asset, when factored against the dangers Damian would face should they fail at an inopportune moment.

I really liked Damian with powers and wouldn't of minded if he kept them and nobody seems to care or notice that Jason has had powers for a while now

I thought it was because his powers and his nervous system were not in synch. During the test it was shown that even though he didn't feel pain from being shot his body was actually still registering damage.

Oh, it did? That'd explain it. If he has "I don't know when I'm actually hurt," syndrome, that's a big problem.

As far as I can tell, they just helped him to "drain the tank" so to speak. He only had so much energy stored up, and they exerted him so that he'd run out of magical power juice and be normal again...for everyone's sake.

I guess it's better than him running dry while taking criminals into space...

So the superpowers were always a time-limited thing?

I actually kind of love the idea of a Robin getting superpowers and suddenly overshadowing Batman.

Like, "Superman, I need you in Gotham NOW, Joker got his hands on..."

"Oh, hey Damien! I saw you dealing with Grodd on the news, that was great!"

"Kent, I..."

"Oh, Batman! I didn't see you there!"

Is it me or how as Johns (and I know this wasn't written by him but Tomasi is close to him and this is just following his lead from JL) regressed Billy Batson? Not only turned him into a jerk but he's no longer even wiser than his years? It's like Johns thinks the only way Shazam works if if the kid inside is infantile and six years old - without bothering making reboot Billy six years ago.

Man batman is one insecure man/superhero/father! Cant handle his son is stronger, faster, etc than him! Cant trust him like that, etc! WOW!

I would hate to see what he does if his son develops a bigger man bulge in his uniform than batman has!
