I am starting to see where Bruce dismissing Kori as "alien" comes from. Of course, Bruce can dismiss Clark and J'Onn as aliens if the mood strikes him.

And he bloody well shouldn't do that either. "Alien" purely as an descriptive adjetcive is one thing. "Alien" intended as a dismissive perjorative is quite another, it has two much of the same echo as "Jew" or "Black" being used as an insult.

Batman is pretty xenophobic. His no killing rules 8/10 is portrayed as only applying to humans and Superman is his "best alien friend".

I actually kinda like that about the character. That flaw kinda humanizes him.

An amusing character trait I don't mind in my heroes, IMHO there is nothing amusing about xenophobia in this sort of context.

It always annoys me when Bruce pulls that 'alien' crap. What's worse is that no one calls him on his xenophobia! It's just Bruce being Bruce. >:(

You know, I've noticed this too but don't necessarily agree. Especially around new 52 I saw his dismissal along the lines of "We don't even know if they feel the way we do. We don't know what they are or what they're capable of." Ever vigilant. I think there are other shades in it too. Sometimes it's almost as if he's responding to the superpower privilege that seems to be prevalent in DC universe aliens, as though to say "How nice for you. But we humans have real problems."-- ever the dispenser of reality checks. There's a strong relatability factor there. I don't think it's always just him being defensive because he's a trauma case. But sometimes he does have those human moments.

The only difference is Luthor knows who murdered his parents.

She seems a lot more naturalized here to me. Like she was raised here or has been here a very long time. Just by the way she speaks.

This is how she always spoke in the comics, particularly the NTTs. If anyone's gonna write her properly, it'll be Marv Wolfman, after all.

It just strikes me as weird, if she's an alien, shouldn't she be more like the new 52 version? Or before that, had she been here a really long time? She doesn't seem very alien in the old version.
