As part of the Convergence events, the Atom fights a Namor-expy by the name of Barracuda, who's from Angor, DC's thinly veiled version of the Marvel Universe.

Of course he named himself after the teenage girl he kidnapped and brainwashed.
And I know it won't have been intentional but it's so in character for him that I'm going to choose to believe it.

As I said elsewhere, Slade kind of has a habit of kidnapping and brainwashing teenage girls. Him naming himself after Cass would be kind of morbidly amusing though.

Though the first one was retconned in REALLY badly leary 20 yeara after the fact.

In the original Judas Contract and subsequent stories dealing with the aftermath, it's quite clear that Tara Markov was a sadistic psychopath long before she ever met Slade (Yes, even though she was only 14 or so back then). He didn't make her evil, she was already evil and he just provided her with an opportubity to revel in her evilness. (The blatant implications that he had a sexual relationship with her is completely indefensible though, so I wouldn't want to even try)

I don't know if DC ever would do it (since the current regime are clearly mega-fans of the character) but this "Event" would be a perfectly opportunity to give the pre-reboot Deathstroke (the same one Meltzer had take out the entire JLA in IC) a taste of justice (and by that I mean ending him once and for all). The guy did nuke a city after all!
