There's no way he can just palm that dog, he does not have a good grip on it. Dog's gonna fall.

If he can hold himself with one hand, which he is since his legs aren't touching the tree, he can hold the dog with one hand. I'm more worried about how he can get down, since if moves his hand, he's going to fall.

I think the next move is wrap his legs, move the dog first against his chest, and then into a safer position, then climb down.

My thought is that he's going to hold the dog to his chest and then get down in a controlled drop, hence why his legs aren't wrapped around the tree branch already.
