Hmm, I like her costume. As a "initial" one, it's quite good (of course she should get a redesign when she joins the Bat-family proper). Oh and it's good to see that her fighting prowess is still intact it would seem.

Personally, I'd have liked to see Dick managing to keep up for a bit, if only defensively. This way, it seems a bit too one-sided to be particularly interesting beyond it being Cass' introduction into the Nu52.

I read it as her initially underestimating her, and then when he stopped, he got the grab at least.


It's an interesting gimmick with the red-dots representing what she's reading.

I'm fine with it here (if it had been another character, then I'd have probably agreed with you). One of Cass's biggest character traits is being one of the best fighters/martial artists in the DCU, like Top 5-levels of elite. She beat Lady Shiva, and it's been implied that she could beat Batman in a straight-up fight. So Dick losing badly here actually makes a lot of sense to me.

It doesn't mean that he's bad at it or anything, just that someone is better (which happens).

While I know that Dick is going to bounce back, I still somewhat disliked how easily Cass beat him. Not that she did, but just the ease.

And I don't really know how I feel about them apparently insisting on bringing anyone who ever was in the Bat-books back as it starting to reach suffocating levels.

The only way dick would have been able to put up any real fight is if spyral gave him something that prevented her from reading his movements.

Or Dick overcoming an opponent with an advantage considering that in the in-universe hierarchy, he is just after Bruce as the main non-powered hero.

I have no issue with Cass winning here, I was more grumpling how one-sided it was, but I also don't agree with the argument that Dick shouldn't be able to beat Cass.

Midnighter reads/predicts his movements AND is enhanced and Grayson matches him move for move.

Not saying Grayson needs to beat Cass, but that was a pretty godlike feat there.

There was a STRONG demand for Cassandra Cain and Stephanie Brown. I am not sure about any others.

Strong is always a tricky concept because it depends on where you take your sampling from. I would almost argue that there is a very strong group that just don't care if either character comes back, but at the same time it shouldn't be the deciding factor either.

My problem is that the Bat-Clan is starting to become really overcrowded. Besides Dick, Alfred, Babs and Gordon, they insisted on making Jason the good guy, Tim is doing whoever knows what, Damian is always somewhere, they want to bring in new characters with Harper, Julia and Duke, they brought back Steph, and here they are bringing back not only Cass, but also apparently Jean-Paul.

The thing is I love Cass and out of all returns she's the one I want back the most. However, when they keep bringing these characters from their beloved childhoods, not only does it make it more difficult to push those new characters in to prominent role, it is also difficult to build those returning characters as meaningful. If they bring Cass back, I'd rather they continue to have her be an integral part of the clan instead of random face who pops up when writers remember she exists.

Second exchange, he got a grab and was able to pick up what she was doing more. So Dick's adjusting- go in fresh with what he knows now and I think you'd see more defense.

And this is Cass- Snyder's wanted to bring her back for a long time.

To be fair Cass was also beating him semi easily in the Pre-52 until they were interrupted.

Black Bat has always looked good with yellow, but in the nu52 Bat Rangers she really needs another colour. Rich has blue, Tim red, Steph putple, That Hellspawn uses red and green, Jace is also red, Mz. Pennyworth uses I think grey...Harper is also blue. Bat-Cow is a Jersey, I think.

Not that there's anything wrong with her having yellow or gold, but it's just a little weird when the obviously Asian girl(with blue eyes...did she used to have those?) has yellow as her colour.

Personally I hope she gets something in Moon Knight white, because nobody will see her coming anyway.

Yay, Cass! and she seems like she's already a member of the Batclan in Bruce's eyes, considering she's listed with the Robins on that data stick.
