OK, I'll admit I'm primarily reading this book for Spider-Girl, and this story is still pretty damn great. Especially since, you know, Stegron.

That the last chapter did what I predicted it was going to do was both gratifying and heartwarming. And the new duds are spectacular.

Well I think between the vampire, the lizards, the werewolf and the talking Dinosaur man it's safe to say he's not going for scientifically accurate here.

That's the thing though! It's jarring because so much of the rest of it is so well-thought-out - like the entire premise of 'curing' Spider-People by infecting them with a different strain of monsterism. He did so well with the rest of this, it seems a shame for him to fall at the penultimate hurdle.

There's a concept that John Rogers, former writer of DC's Blue Beetle and current TV producer/writer, uses a lot when he talks about his work, called the "fun train." His projects tend to do a lot of research, so when you take umbrage with some facet of them or another, it's usually at least based on something real. That said, if there is something he has to deliberately screw up in order to make a scene work, or an explanation he has to skip, he will do so, because that keeps the "fun train" moving.

The point of this scene is to attack giant spider-monsters with reanimated dinosaurs. Any amount of arguing about "real" fossils or wires on skeletons is a deliberate attempt to derail the "fun train," and as such, should be ignored.

If you really have to reconcile these mild issues in order to enjoy a comic book about reanimated dinosaurs fighting spider-mutants in the ruins of Manhattan, it is the Marvel Universe, and as such, dinosaur fossils are much easier to come by due to the Savage Land. They're probably so cheap that they can go ahead and display an entire preserved skeleton. As for the wires, I'd imagine those would've been pushed out of the dinosaurs' bodies by their flesh being regrown over the course of a few minutes, if not a few seconds.

This is the kind of exception people only raise if they're trying to be a "stop having fun" guy.

Christos Gage continues to be one of my favorite writers. It's because he goes fro the emotion of the scenes. Sometimes it's overly obvious, but I still like it.

God, I need to post some Stegron the Dinosaur Man. He's my favorite d-list supervillain.

I don't remember where it is on the list but I'm pretty sure that "Don't turn myself into a monster, it never helps." is on the evil overlord list.

Seriously Pete was all conflicted about killing her before but now that she doesn't look like people? Operation kill the villain to death is a go.
