He seemed pretty into the idea of 'best talent' and competing over people.
I see this as encouragement to be as critical as possible. Clearly, it's the crap writers and artists that're raising the costs of the substandard books they put out. Didn't they ALWAYS try to do special things for REALLY good artists and writers?
I'm incredibly sick of both lines basically being written by about four guys.(at DC it's, of course, Johns and perhaps Palmiotti) I have a hard time believing Quesada is sincere about "the best talent"--can that really be so few writers? Or is it that fewer writers means more editorial control? The latter is my guess. In any case, it's gotten to a point where the worst ambition you can have in comics is to write.
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
