That's not really what I mean. Of course superheroes should have drama. But I would rather it not be cheapass drama like "this character is suddenly pregnant! Who's the father?". The kind of stuff that gives soaps a bad rep.

But is this kind of thing inherently bad or is it just regarded as bad because it's been handled badly by bad soaps? Because, once separated from that association, I don't see how this kind of mystery is inherently less worthy as a story hook than any other mystery. Like, say, a whodunnit.

Ideas aren't bad, but this story isn't exactly doing anything to wow either.
