If that is what you gained from reading that thread, I would strongly advise you to reread the rules of posting on scans_daily VERY thoroughly before posting.
The issue isn't that you can't dislike a female character or have a different opinion. But it's one thing to say 'I'm not a fan of this character' and something else entirely to tear that female character in a way that devalues her worth, which is exactly what you did.
Since we are not part of a fandom that evaluates female characters on the same standards as men and are often torn down for being 'too perfect' or 'not perfect enough,' it absolutely does matter how you express your opinion and that it isn't expressed in a way that perpetuates sexism.
We don't encourage tearing down male characters either, but tearing down male characters do not hold the same consequences for male representation as they often do for women. As such, it is a case of punching up for men versus down for women, and again, how characters are evaluated and/or valued is heavily tied to existing gender inequalities. All that's being asked of you is that you be mindful of that when you express your thoughts.
While we're at it, please be mindful of using ableist language as well when discussing why you dislike a character. Negative use of 'lame' may be inconsequential to us, but it may not be for someone else on this community.
You are, of course, entitled to your personal opinion, but given the stated intent and ethos of Scans_Daily, you can hardly come on to a threat featuring perhaps the most high profile female superhero ever, make such a sweeping statement with nothing to support it and expect it NOT to provoke a reaction.
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
