The former's winning can seem too obvious, the latter's too obviously contrived.
When whoever does does, it can read like their view of things' being touted over the other's.
Those problems weren't in the Punisher and Spidey's fights in Avenging Spider-Man #22.
It probably helped that the Spider in question was Superior.

(They're not talking about Quentin Beck, but someone who bought his gear from Roderick Kingsley.)

This round was fair- Frank took a painful hit, rolled with it, and triggered a believable enough defense to render Otto vulnerable.
So was the next one, after !Mysterio'd been dealt with:

Again, Frank rolls with the hit and comes up with a counter.
But on a battlefield that he hasn't rigged, he doesn't have any obvious advantage to capitalize on..

.. and things go in a way more expected.
(Frank's taking it in stride is the best.
Oh yes, pagecount- 4 of 20.)
