I can sort of imagine what happened to "Bill," suddenly trapped in an adult body and facing a holocaust, he had to grow up fast and it made him bitter, I'm guessing. That still doesn't REALLY excuse this degree of distortion of his character (or why nobody seems to have noticed how differently he's acting), but I could maybe give that one a pass.
But why has this cataclysm spared the super-powered but de-powered them? How the heck does the Joker get there and start talking like a reasonable person but still make that lizard grin face all the time? Is INSANITY a super-power now? (And does he just have resting bastard face?)
What super-powers did Mister Miracle used to have? Maybe he was just really good at ESCAPING the crazy story logic that determines who survived and who didn't here?
For that matter, if he's de-powered then why IS Billy an adult now? Why is Barbara Minerva trapped as a cheetah-creature but J'Onn given his more human-looking form? It doesn't seem like you could have that body and not have some super-abilities, so does Barbara have any super-powers when the rest of them don't? AND IN EITHER CASE, WHY?
Oh, well, I'm sure everything will be thoroughly explained.
Of course! Every single thing will be answered and more! This comic surely doesn't not explain everything. Everything will be explained and the ending won't remotely end abruptly.
As above, I assume that part of whatever caused this basically took away powers but left them locked into their current form. Therefore a powerless J'Onn in his humanoid-compromise form, a Cheetah who... I dunno, mutated because animal? and a Captain Marvel who loses all of his SHAZAM powers and is left as adult Billy.
As for Mister Miracle, perhaps what he and Barda lost were the inherent immortality(?) and durability(?) and strength(?) that come from being New Gods. I forget if they get any basic inherent bonuses, or if they all develop differently.
A Joker who's still deformed, but who loses whatever made him special in the head?
you know? at least with "Act of God" it was implied (okay, "implied") that it was an act... well... of god, or at least some sort of divine entity, which could explain some of the random choices made in who was de-powered and who wasn't.

Totally reasons!
