I know people out there seem to be sensitive or frustrated whenever there's a costume change, but honestly... Vampirella's new look, while maybe a little generic, I feel is better than her old one.

Yeah. This costume doesn't bowl me over, but I really didn't care for her old one, even though what little I've read of Vampirella, I actually quite liked.

I actually really like the new look; I respect that the old look is classic, but it's basically 50's pin-up stuff; it isn't meant for running about and kicking the shit out of supernatural stuff, unless your book's incredibly tongue in cheek.

The cover had me worried—Vampirella is NOT the character I'd pick for a re-imagining as an Art School hipster girl. What's next, blogging to fight MRAs instead of staking vampires?

But the interior pages look very promising, and the new costume looks practical and sexy while departing from the 1970s sci-fi porn vibe of the original.

Also, it would appear Vampirella and I share similar taste in men.

I like the new outfit well enough. I also liked the old outfit. I don't like what looks like attempts to justify the new outfit at the old outfit's expense. People have more than one set of clothes. It's okay, we'll understand.

Agreed. Just, "New look?" "Yea." "Cool." would work for me, it doesn't have to be a thing.

I like how the 'new look' is apparently just one of many, and not a replacement for the other outfit (though I have no strong opinion on either costume).

No, I noticed it immediately too. It made me smile, I love art that mixes the colour and relatively "realistic" art of American comics with the tropes of manga :)

Nothing wrong with the new outfit at all, but something about it says "roller derby" to me.

I hope it's made out of something really stain-resistant. I always figured the reasoning behind her bikini was because she ends up covered in blood most of the time.

I could do without the little bit seemingly ragging on the old costume, and the meme-dropping (not even getting the meme right, too), is a little 'eh', but this looks fun. Certainly the most interesting of the three revamps (bad pun) Dynamite have done lately.

What were the other two revamps?

I think one was Red Sonja and the other was.. Maybe Dejah Thoris? Those are the three classic characters Dynamite have that I imagine them wanting to be taken more seriously as female-led books are becoming more and more popular.
