Post-Crisis Clark's invulnerability was the first of his powers to manifest, and was enough to avoid being so much as bruised by a bull trampling him when he was about 8. Jon's supposed to be what, 10 or so?
Was there any special explanation for how Lois and Clark managed to conceive at all? You'd think there might be serious difficulties with that; even if human and Kryptonian evolution is remarkably parallel there ought to be all sorts of invisible genetic differences, aside from the solar-fueled powers and Kryptonite sensitivity.
I think there was a post a bit ago about it. Basically a villain knew his secret identity and was using it to try and control Superman. Lois outed Clark to "save" him.
The villain was also "stealing" Superman's power to use for himself too IIRC, so Lois feared Superman would die and also that we'd have a new Superman level villain. It was complex, but I think it was still a dumb call on her part. She saw it as the quickest way out of the situation, and one where her direct action would count. That is kinda counter to a lot of the Superman ethos over the years, that the quickest and most personally ego gratifying way of handling things does make the best way of handling it.
Even if the story was set up in such a way that it was the only option (which I'm not sure it actually was, I'm sure it was intended to be -the current PTB at DC are very controling like that and like to have no room for audience interp) it was still a bad story because of that. It does seem that lately DC has been running a lot of stories that just don't seem to have the same moral and philosophical cues as they used to. Especially with Superman, a character that, even at the height of the Super-Dickery era, always strove to do the right thing even if it was the harder and riskier path to walk.
Yeah. I'm not going to judge too much, not having read it or even scans of bits of it, but that sound unsatisfactory on all levels to me, and fairly incompatible with the Superman ethos.
On the other hand, it's better than what I thought I'd heard at some point, where Lois had done it just because she was pissed he'd kept it from her.
It's nice that he's being drawn recognizably as the Clark I remember, which was really never the case for the Nu52 Superman except maybe when Bryan Hitch drew him.
I wonder how much of this is Dan Jurgens (who has been involved writing/pencilling L&C a long, LONG time) commenting on the whole Lois Nu52 fiasco (which was a complete disservice to the character from the beginning of the reboot) or if it was DC's Editorial starting to disassociate themselves with all things Nu52 Superman (they obviously let Old!Lois's disgust at Nu!Lois pass),
