...It kind of looks like Medusa murdered Scott. What do you think the odds are she and the rest of the InHumans lied about Scott being a terrorist and attacked first?
It would make sense but since Marvel is pushing the inhumans at the expense of the mutants for out of universe reasons I doubt we'll get that as the big reveal.
Well, judging from the "Jay and Miles X-Plain the X-Men' podcast, where they had one of the Marvel writers on (Sam Humphries, maybe?) explain what Cyclops actually did and then bleeped it all out, I don't think so.
What little they did allow to be heard involved Cyclops, Magneto and Emma Frost doing...something...and then Cyclops trying to stop something and the only way he could do that was do to...SOMETHING. Ugh. There is simply no way it's going to live up to the build up they've given it.
Having said all that, since we've already seen Medusa use a mutant to trick the media and advance their agenda, I would believe it EASILY.
I will say, I'm anticipating finally finding out what happened with Cyclops. I'm not looking forward to it, but I'm at least anticipating it.
I still don't get what Marvel is thinking with this Inhumans/Mutants direction. It hasn't made the Inhumans any more likable, and in fact it's put them in a position where fans are more or less rooting for them to "lose" because given the choice between the Inhumans and the X-Men, fans are gonna choose the X-Men every time.
It's not like Marvel hasn't misread the situation before. I don't think they get X-fans. They thought Cap and the Avengers were the clear heroes of AvX. I'm still amused by all the interviews with Marvel folks trying to explain how fans of Cyclops and the idea that "Cyclops was right" were all wrong. All their protestations didn't change anything.
It might've seemed like a good idea to force expose X-fans to the Inhumans, but to your point, all they did was make Inhumans the enemy.
I assume Death of X will put all the blame on Scott for the cloud being toxic and exonerate the Inhumans like they tried with Wanda and Children's Crusade. I expect it to be just as unsuccessful.
At this point I will take what I can get. Cyclops is my favorite character and at the height of his character's presence he was stuck in Bendis decompression land and then put on a bus.
There has literally been no where to read about Cyke, well written or not, for close to a year?
I wonder how long Marvel is going to try to ignore the internal logic, that the Inhumans are committing genocide on mutants?
Because I find it hard to believe that they couldn't just scoop up the cloud with all their tech, there's no need for it to float all over the world randomly creating inhumans and killing mutants, and it was released by their king. So yeah, mutants have a pretty justified grudge against Inhumans.
(sidenote, are we really supposed to believe that with all the characters who can control the weather, that they couldn't clean up the T-clouds inside of a week if they made an effort?)
