I remember this one and the Wizard's plan. A plan so devastatingly diabolical, so fiendishly clever, so mind-boggingly maniacally menacing that it was inevitable that it wouldn't work.

Back then? Yes.

There are canonical sequences of him having to repair it after a fight...and of course the famous sequence of him throwing the costume (singular) in the garbage when he decided to be 'Spiderman...NO MORE!'

In that one panel it looks less like Peter's in love and more like he's having a bathroom emergency. (And, yeah, what a dick, stringing Deb along.)
